U.S. Federal Officials Flush Idea of $20 Million Virtual Fence For The Mexico Border
The system hasn't given enough notification to border patrol agents. The system was very slow to send images to agents.
GAO says the project "did not fully meet user needs and the project's design will not be used as the basis for future" developments.
The Border Patrol continues to operate the fence, but Kelly Good, deputy director of the Secure Border Initiative program office in Washington, says regarding how well it worked: "Probably not to the level that Border Patrol agents on the ground thought that they were going to get. So it didn't meet their expectations."

- Is there anything that can realistically be done to deport illegals from this country...basically meaning mexicans and south Americans? Especially the criminals...there are crimes being commited every single day by illegals. And is there anything that can realistically be done to prevent them from coming over the borders? - IMO the geniuses charged with this important job should be concentrating more on the PHYSICAL barriers. And they should make 'em higher, stronger and impenetrable! This INVASION of our country HAS to be stopped NOW! Lots of razor wire at the top of those physical barriers would be a nice touch if you ask me. Or better yet just weave it throughout the entire fence. Sure would make it harder to climb. A little 'electrification' wouldn't hurt either. Well, it might hurt some. But what a way to convey the KEEP OUT message!
