- American Council for the Blind succeeds in appeal against the Treasury department that our money needs to be redesigned for the benefit of (a few) blind people.
- Appeals court ruled 2-1, Judge Judith Rogers in favor of the ruling that the Treasury Department is violating the law by keeping dollars the same size and feel, Judge A. Raymond Randolph dissenting.
- "We are very pleased with the ruling," said a spokeswoman for the American Council of the Blind. "We are hopeful that the treasury department will now get busy and come up with a plan to make paper money more readily identifiable for the visually impaired people all over the world," she added.
Critique:
- Why can't blind people be happy to do most of their transactions with a credit or debit card?
